Annual Respirator Training | Respiratory Protection
Respiratory Protection ranked as the third most frequently cited OSHA violation in 2022.
According to OSHA standards, respiratory protection must be implemented when other methods cannot sufficiently control workplace air contamination.
Employers must provide appropriate and effective respirators to employees under these conditions. Comprehensive Respiratory Protection Training is mandatory when respiratory protection is necessary.
Training should address the respiratory hazards employees may face during routine operations and emergencies. It must also cover the correct usage of respirators, including how to don and doff them, their limitations, and maintenance requirements.
Inadequate training can pose significant safety risks to employees and may lead to OSHA citations and penalties.
